Knicks can’t rely on past success - Kevin Durant

Brooklyn Nets’s small forward, Kevin Durant.
Kevin Durant on Tuesday said in an interview with Hthe Knicks can’t rely on their brand when it comes to landing the best players. He further went on to explain that older players including him might have seen the Knicks make the finals but in terms of team success in recent years, it hasn’t been rosy for the Knicks. This has made it difficult for the younger basketball players to see the Knicks as an attractive place to ply their trade.

I think a lot of fans look at the Knicks as a brand and expect these younger players in their lifetime don't remember the Knicks being good... I’ve  seen the Knicks in the Finals, but kids coming up after me didn't see that. So that whole brand of the Knicks is not as cool as let's say the Golden State Warriors, or even the Lakers or the Nets now,” Durant said in an in-studio interview at HOT 97 in New York.
