''I did not sack C.K Akunnor from Kotoko''-George Amoako

Newly appointed Chairperson  of the Black Stars Management Committee, George Amoako, has squashed reports that he is not in good terms with the current head coach of the Black Stars , C.K. Akonnor.

Akunnor was appointed head coach of the Porcupine warriors under the leadership of George Amoako but after a while that episode didn't end well for both parties.

George Amoako  revealed what really happened during Monday’s GFA’s Meet the Press held at the Exim Bank Conference hall in Accra. According to him, he had a fruitful working relationship with C.K Akonnor .

“I did not sack Akonnor from Kotoko. The team’s management decided to elevate him to the position of a technical director and his job description did not deviate from that of a coach.

Akonnor and I spoke on Sunday and he briefed me on all the things he was doing in Europe (where Akonnor is currently monitoring national team players). There is absolutely nothing wrong between Akonnor and me.”

The Asante Kotoko C.E.O's job with the national team is to head the management team , with assistance from the likes of Akwasi Agyemang who is the Vice Chairman , Jones Alhassan Abu, Ex-Ghana player Sammy Kuffuor  and Fred Pappoe.
